Local Permits for your skip
If you plan to put the skip on the road or verge outside your house, you will need a permit from your council. We can arrange the skip permit for you if you ask at the time of hire, or assist you with your application. Note: different councils may apply different conditions. Our local council is Tunbridge Wells Borough Council (Kent County Council).

What we can accept in our RORO skips
As a general rule, you can put pretty much anything into a skip except hazardous items. All these items are fine:
- NElectrical Equipment (apart from computers and televisions)
- NGreen Waste
- NHard Core (e.g. bricks and rubble)
- NPackaging (including polystyrene)
- NSoil (uncontaminated)
These Items incur Additional Charges
For legal and regulatory reasons there are several items that cannot be put in a skip without prior approval and must be disposed of differently. An additional charge is levied for the correct disposal, please contact the office before placing an order online. These items include but not limited to:
- LTVs, Computer Monitors
- LFridges / Freezers
- LGas Cylinders
What we cannot accept
Skips are excellent for getting rid of most non-hazardous waste material, but for legal or practical reasons there are several items that cannot be put in a skip and must be disposed of separately. You cannot put hazardous or harmful items into a skip. These include but are not limited to:
- MFluorescent Tubes
- MPaint and Paint Tins (unless empty)
- MGas Cylinders
- MOil, Petrol, Diesel and Explosives
- MDead Animals
